fab 5 friday doubled

Today's fab five Friday (x2) is in honor of my amazing husband on his 36th birthday. It truly sucks that's he's not here for us to shower with birthday love and spoiling but I can't be too upset because I know that although he's nearly 3,000 miles away he's doing what he loves while providing a nice life for us girls. With that said I present to you 10 reasons I am so head over heels in love with the man whom I affectionately refer to as my B.

1. His heart
2. His parenting skills - He is the most amazing father to Beanna. Seeing these 2 together you'd have no idea he's new at the role and taking it as it comes
3. His communication skills
4. His drive
5. His patience
6. His generosity - he is one of the most selfless people I know
7. His sense of humor
8. His smile - it's infectious. You can't help but smile when you see that boyish grin on his face and honestly it makes me melt. I could look at him for hours.
9. His genuineness
10. His loyalty

anyone who personally knows my husband can attest that he is truly an amazing person with a heart of gold. I am truly honored to call him my partner in life.

B,

Thank you for loving me and helping me see that I am worthy of love not just any love but YOUR love...worthy of you. Thank you for helping me realize I wasn't broken and was capable of loving again and for letting me discover that at my own pace with no pressure...you let me fall in love with you at my own pace and waited patiently while I made sure it was truly love and not infatuation. You have brought into my life excitement, happiness and an amazing future to look forward to without asking me to be someone other than the girl you fell in love with. I love you endlessly.

XO - your wife

Wordless Wednesday

sticks and stones

As kids we’d respond to teasing, taunting – BULLYING with the nursery rhyme…

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”

Looking back at this as an adult I have to call this little comeback for what it is…BULLSH*T! Excuse my language but that’s the word that comes to mind when I think of this verbal shield we were taught to use as kids.

Yes, its true sticks and stones CAN break your bones but words, they can leave a forever impact especially when used in a negative manner.
As a kid my mother was verbally abusive. I will not go into full details of the things she’d say to me but I will say they are things you should NEVER say to a child; especially your own. I do not know why she would say the things she said to me. I do not know why she made me feel like crap as a kid the the point that I would wish I was never born. This is a hard post for me to type up because as I’m typing the things she’d say to me are rushing to the surface and reopening those old woun…
